- Serve as a Clinical Psychologist who utilizes experience and knowledge with both psychological and medical aspects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) for the treatment of associated symptoms.
- Employ psychological techniques for the treatment of traumatic brain injury symptoms and psychological conditions.
- Provide patients with psychological and behavioral techniques and strategies that help them manage and cope better with chronic pain.
- Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities for the treatment of comorbid conditions such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
- Formulate diagnostic and treatment plans and recommendations for treatment teams consisting of physicians, mid-level providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, nursing staff and others.
- Formulate outpatient assessments and treatment plans.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In making this determination, the agency may consider your performance and conduct; agency needs and interests; whether your continued employment supports organizational or Government goals; and whether it promotes the efficiency of the Federal service. Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest.
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

- Advance in hire and Enhanced Leave Accrual MAY be authorized for highly qualified and eligible candidates.
