Financial Systems AnalystLocation: Plymouth, Minnesota OR Canton, Massachusetts (hybrid)Pay Range: $60-$65/hrTerm: 10-12 Month Contract (potential FTE conversion)Client Industry: InsurancePosition SummaryThe Financial Systems Analyst supports and maintains finance systems to ensure accurate data, reliable reporting, and compliant processes. The role assists with system maintenance, financial close activities, reporting, and issue resolution, and works with Finance and IT partners to support system enhancements and process improvements.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain finance systems, including structures, codes, workflows, and integrations, to ensure accurate data and reporting.Assist with finance system activities during the financial close, including reconciliations and issue resolution ensuring accurate and timely task completion.Provide functional support for finance systems by responding to requests, triaging issues, and resolving moderately complex problems.Maintain standard finance reports and hierarchies, and support reconciliations between source systems and reporting tools.Support internal controls and compliance activities by following established procedures and identifying potential data or process issues.Analyze finance workflows and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality.Participate in system enhancement initiatives by supporting requirements documentation, testing, and implementation activities.Collaborate with Finance, IT, and QA partners to support system stability, enhancements, and ongoing operationsDecision-Making Authority/Accountability LevelUnder general supervision, performs work of moderate complexity.Exercises general discretion and some independent judgment within limited authority level and is capable of analyzing and routing information requests.Work is sometimes passed to a higher level for decision making.Minimum Requirements/Essential FunctionsAbility to demonstrate analytical, decision making, problem solving, and organizational skills.Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively using oral and written communication in various forms including video.Must be able to work both independently, as a member of a team, and have the ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals.Demonstrate proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office suite and other systems utilized by the department.Must maintain a high level of accuracy and follow-through on commitments.Requires the ability to maintain confidential information.Capable and willing to adapt to changes as needed.Ability to follow work instructions as directed.Ability to stay focused and productive during required working hours.Respond to internal and external clients as established by department guidelines.Ability to travel when the position requires.Education and Experience PreferredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Information Systems; or comparable, related work experience required.3-5 years of experience.General understanding of accounting principles; insurance accounting preferred.Experience with ERPs and reporting tools preferred.
