Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required. License: Must hold a valid license in the state. Certifications: Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Must-Have: Traveler must be aware they may be asked to float across ICU, Medical Surgical (MS), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Traveler will also be asked to float to the Emergency Department (ED) as a helping hand. Strong experience in ICU with floating to PCU and MS is essential. The candidate must be able to manage higher patient ratios. First-time travelers are not accepted. Floating between ICU, PCU, MS, and the ED based on departmental needs is a requirement. Description: This position involves pre-screening confirmed travel nursing responsibilities. The schedule includes working 4 shifts of 12 hours each. Patient ratios may include 1:2 in ICU, 1:4 in PCU, and 1:4 in MS. The candidate must have experience managing ventilators, Arctic Sun, and balloon pumps (rarely used). The unit typically cares for patients with conditions such as ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, AKIs, UTIs, and acute shock. Floating is required for all travelers within the hospital or to nearby facilities. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, and approved time off is limited. A background check is required prior to employment. Preference may be given to candidates with previous charge experience.
