Pay & Compensation
Elite Local Drivers enjoy hourly pay with current drivers averaging $100,000+ annually .
Your compensation includes:
- Premium hourly pay
- Average annual earnings of $100,000+
- Paid detention time
- Vacation pay based on your year-to-date average weekly earnings
Weekly Performance Bonuses
Elite drivers are rewarded for consistently operating at the highest level.
Earn additional weekly incentives:
- $25 MPG Incentive
- $25 Motive Safety Incentive
- $25 Service Incentive
To qualify, drivers must maintain:
- 7.7+ MPG
- Motive Safety Score of 90 or higher
- 95% or higher service score
Local Freight & Schedule
Elite Local drivers enjoy the benefits of being home every day while supporting WEL's premium local operations.
Responsibilities may include:
- Local and final-mile deliveries
- Yard support
- Equipment repositioning
- Customer-specific freight
- Local shuttle operations
Drivers are home daily , although schedules may include night and weekend work based on customer and freight requirements.

Career Advancement
The Elite Fleet is earned through consistent performance—not assigned.
Drivers must meet Elite Fleet qualifications, including:
- Minimum 30 days of employment
- Committee approval
- Elite certification
- Maintain:
- Motive Safety Score of 85+
- MPG greater than 7.8
- Service score above 95%
- Demonstrate professionalism, safety, and operational excellence
Industry-Leading Referral Program
Elite Local drivers also benefit from one of the strongest referral programs in trucking.
Refer just one qualified driver each month and earn up to $18,000 annually in referral bonuses.
