Summary of Job

Summer Seasonal: May through August (variable hours; approximately 10-40 hours/week)

• Manage and supervise staff in the overall maintenance of Krueger Pool during work hours (including but not limited to security, cleanliness and safety)
• Safety and direct supervision of facility patrons
• Provide high level of leadership
• Provide supervision of staff including in-service training and scheduling
• Coordination and planning of facility maintenance procedures
• Complete necessary paperwork specific to job responsibilities (state mandated forms, attendance forms, accident/incident report forms, facility checklists, etc.)
• Initiate communication regarding safety concerns to management staff on a daily basis
• Encourage children to participate in swimming activities through positive reinforcement
• Supervise special events held at assigned facility
• Serve as a positive role model to the participants
• Perform set-up and take-down of program related equipment
• Responsible for daily monetary transactions and deposits at facility
• Perform end-of-season staff evaluations with employees
• Organize and assign staff to teach weekly swim lessons

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age upon employment.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Ability to supervise staff.
• Ability to effectively coordinate and direct the overall operation, including maintenance of the swimming pool during swim hours.
• Ability to enforce City of Beloit policies and procedures.
• Ability to take direction.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Effective decision making skills.
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others from different cultures and backgrounds.

Wage: $17.00/hour

Work Site: Krueger Pool
***Current Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED certifications MUST be attached to the application to qualify as passing minimum requirements.
