About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Outpatient Clinic Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Experience License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS Preferred Must-Have: RNs must bring their own stethoscope. Experience in High Risk OB & OB/GYN. Assessment skills including height/weight, interpretation of laboratory results, vital signs, and patient health history. Cardiac arrest and CPR skills are essential. Office duties such as pharmacy calls, patient refill requests, and telephone triage are required. Professional knowledge including biohazard waste disposal, follow-up phone calls, medication refills, and patient teaching. Description: RNs do not work inpatient. There is no requirement for labor and delivery experience; however, it is preferred. The role consists of performing simple workups such as blood pressure and history of present illness. RNs will place patients in rooms. Ability to draw blood is preferred but not required. RNs need to be able to place orders and conduct diabetic workups. The average daily census is 14 patients with approximately 28 visits per day. No call requirement. No float requirement. No weekend requirement. Patients include adolescents and adults with high-risk pregnancies. Special procedures include IVF, gestational diabetes management, and care for twins. RNs must adhere to all unit policies and procedures. Additional skills in medication reconciliation, medication administration, and specimen collection are preferred. Knowledge of workman’s compensation and injury reporting is beneficial.
