Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health / Psychiatric) – 2nd Shift

Location: Middletown, CT 06457 (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:45 PM–11:15 PM (No weekends) • 40 hrs/week (OT possible)

Pay: $60-$65/hr

This Registered Nurse role is ideal for an experienced RN who is confident working independently, completing comprehensive nursing assessments, coordinating care with interdisciplinary treatment teams, and providing direct patient care in a structured inpatient environment. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing and health care plans
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including admission and discharge assessments
• Provide direct nursing care and manage an assigned caseload/clinical workload
• Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare required reports and documentation
• Administer medications per policy; maintain records for secured medications and controlled substances
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to support treatment planning and continuity of care
• Provide nursing consultation within assigned specialty programs
• Participate in therapeutic activities as appropriate (individual, group, and family support)
• Support crisis intervention activities as needed and follow safety procedures in a behavioral health environment
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut RN license (or qualifying multistate license) required
• 2+ years of RN experience required (BSN may substitute for 1 year of experience)
• Behavioral health / psychiatric hospital experience (preferred)
• Experience working with adolescents/youth and complex psychiatric profiles (preferred)
• Strong assessment skills, medication knowledge, and treatment planning capability
• Ability to work in an environment that may include lifting/restraining individuals and exposure to challenging behaviors
