Regional Distribution Center - Warehouse Lead

Position Description Under the general direction of the RDC Operations Manager, the Lead Person is responsible for assisting Management with multiple tasks such as training, coaching, and onboarding new and existing associates. The role assists with day‑to‑day operations, performs daily inventory accuracy checks, and adheres to company and mixing‑center policies and procedures. The Lead Person supports management in achieving optimal productivity by delegating tasks to assigned team members while maintaining quality, inventory accuracy, and safety. Additionally, the Lead Person performs various duties related to warehousing, product movement, and inventory functions within the RDC, provides feedback on team members’ performance, and assists with administering the safety program set forth by ATD. Key Responsibilities Act as a liaison between team members and management, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution. Adhere to all company policies and department procedures, promptly reporting non‑compliance to the supervisor/manager. Assist in administering the safety program to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Collaborate daily with the supervisor/manager to discuss goals, inventory levels, and timelines, leading the team toward established objectives. Complete process, accuracy, and production reports aligned with daily goals and communicate findings to the operations supervisor/manager. Conduct on‑the‑job training and cross‑training using SEAL onboarding tools and processes for new and existing associates. Coordinate planned workflow in alignment with supervisor/manager directives. Ensure team members fulfill their roles effectively under management’s guidance, maintaining operational smoothness. Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements and support implementation efforts. Provide necessary resources to team members to optimize performance and support leadership objectives throughout shifts. Work closely with management to maintain inventory integrity and accuracy, striving for an inventory variance of 2% or less. Policy & Procedures – Monitoring, interpreting, and understanding policies and procedures and ensuring their alignment with organizational strategies and work objectives. Storage – Ensuring optimum storage of warehouse, plant, equipment, materials, and supplies. Traffic and Vehicle Planning – Ensuring optimum deployment and utilization of vehicles and moveable plant, including proficiency in required software and databases. Verbal Communication – Expressing ideas, requesting actions, formulating plans, and policies by means of clear and effective verbal communications. Work Scheduling – Ensuring optimum scheduling of work and material resources to meet planned performance targets, including proficient use of aligned software/systems. Qualifications High School or GED degree. 4–6 years of related experience preferred. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Physical demands: The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell. The employee must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 50pounds. Handling of tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 50pounds is also required. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: The employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel required: 5% of the time.
