Job Description With limited supervision, the Manager, Medical Education provides administrative oversight of medical education programs at Connecticut Children's. The Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and developing staff supporting these programs, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with institutional policies, and accountability for program accreditation. This role oversees Medical Education Program Coordinators and staff, prioritizes workflow, allocates resources effectively, and coordinates with internal and external partners to achieve program and institutional goals. Responsibilities • Manages and directs staff supporting medical education programs, including program coordinators and other education staff, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and professional development. • Prioritizes, delegates, and oversees workflow for the team to ensure efficient operations, completion of tasks, and alignment with organizational goals. • Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support staff growth, engagement, and achievement of program objectives. • Facilitates team collaboration and communication across departments and with external stakeholders to support smooth program operations. • Monitors staff compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements, providing guidance and support to ensure programs remain in full compliance. • Plans and coordinates team-driven initiatives, including meetings, events, and operational projects, ensuring staff have the resources and direction needed for successful execution. • Oversees staff participation in accreditation and program reviews, ensuring that all necessary preparation, documentation, and follow-up tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. • Manages staff-related budgets and resources, including monitoring expenditures, reviewing staffing needs, and ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet program objectives. • Develops and implements operational improvements in staff workflows, processes, and team structures to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and outcomes. • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners to support staff effectiveness and program success. • Represents the Department in internal and external forums related to staff operations, professional development, and program oversight, as needed. • Supports organizational mission and culture by modeling professional behaviors, promoting team cohesion, and valuing diversity and inclusion. • Provides overall supervision of Medical Education Program Coordinators and staff, determining appropriate methods and processes for them to effectively meet accreditation and institutional requirements. • Participates in the selection, hiring, and orientation process; partners with Administrative Director of Medical Education in all phases of performance management, including establishing performance standards, coaching, mentoring, and appraisals. • Communicates expectations, provides ongoing feedback and coaching, and facilitates staff professional development. • Resolves routine employee relations issues and escalates complex matters to the Administrative Director as appropriate. • Educates staff on team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution. • Tracks staff time and ensures compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. • Participates in administrative activities such as policy implementation and maintaining department files.

Minimum of three (3) years of direct supervisory experience with formal authority over personnel decisions, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, staff development, corrective action, and termination. Minimum of seven (7) years of combined progressively responsible experience in medical education (or a closely related field) and a supervisory role with formal personnel management authority accepted In lieu of required degree. LICENSE and/or CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Certified Training Administrator of Graduate Medical Education (C-TAGME) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

- Budget preparation and fiscal management skills
Lead, supervise, and develop a team of program coordinators and staff effectively - Assess situations and adapt management approaches to achieve desired outcomes
- Mentor, coach, and provide constructive feedback to staff
- Plan, prioritize, and delegate work to ensure efficient operations and program compliance
- Work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals
- Learn and apply new software and systems to manage staff, workflows, and reporting requirements
