ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as Deputy Chief of Health Services for the Central Region.
- Establishes and maintains a statewide Women’s Health and a HIV Prevention
- Serves as a full line supervisor.
- Serves as a spokesperson for the department representing the Director,
- Participates in budget planning.
- Serves as a liaison to the IDOC Legal Department and various community
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Requires an Illinois license to practice medicine and, in compliance with the Lippert decree, a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (OD) and either board certification in internal medicine, family or emergency medicine or have successfully completed a residency in internal medicine approved by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Association, or have successfully completed a residency in emergency medicine approved by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. * Requires three (3) years of substantive medical experience in clinical/medical program direction, planning and evaluationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Prefers at least three (3) years of administrative experience in a healthcare organization. * Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working with current developments in providing healthcare in congregate settings. * Prefers at least two (2) years of experience working with correctional medicine and National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC) guidelines. * Prefers at least two (2) years of experience implementing infection control procedures and policies as it applies to current infectious disease protocols and preventative care standards. * Prefers at least one (1) year of experience working in women’s health programs and developing policies for such programs. * Prefers at least one (1) year of experience working with current HIV prevention and treatment strategies. * Prefers at least one (1) year of experience with health concerns and obstacles to care for transgender individuals as well as other marginalized populations. * Prefers at least one (1) year of experience utilizing management skills to delegate authority and evaluate and oversee health programs. * Prefers at least one (1) year of experience working with groups to facilitate change that improves the delivery of care by developing strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and cooperation. * Prefers at least one (1) year of experience working in or with academic programsCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
* Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license. * Required to maintain a current/active Illinois license to practice medicine and, in compliance with the Lippert decree, a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (OD) and either board certification in internal medicine, family or emergency medicine or have successfully completed a residency in internal medicine approved by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Association, or have successfully completed a residency in emergency medicine approved by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
