Database Engineer - Level 3 or 4

We are looking for a Database Engineer Level 3 or Level 4 located in Morrisville, NC. The position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The role involves applying standards, processes, and tools throughout the software development lifecycle, diagnosing integration issues, and delivering fixes or enhancements in a fast‑paced, Linux‑based, client‑server environment. The candidate must be a multitasking team player with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and contractors. The position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance required: Top‑Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) with active Counterintelligence Polygraph. Travel required: 10% of the time. Responsibilities Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Diagnose problems during application integration among products and address fixes or enhancements according to program processes. Develop application software in a Linux environment, using relational databases; knowledge of client‑server applications is beneficial. Work in an extremely dynamic and challenging environment on a day‑to‑day basis. Adapt to fast‑paced environments and multitask with good time‑management skills. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications – Level 3 Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – or Master’s degree with 3 years – or PhD with 1 year; or consider 4+ additional years of experience in lieu of degree. Active U.S. Government Top‑Secret/SCI clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an active Counterintelligence Polygraph at time of application. Experience designing and implementing data warehousing technologies, including relational databases, SQL, and data analytics. Experience implementing InfluxDB, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL database systems running on Linux. Experience in full lifecycle project development. Experience scripting in bash, PLSQL, or Python for efficient automation scripts and database operations. Experience working on Agile teams. Current Security+ certification or equivalent. Experience documenting design, processes, and procedures. Experience with CI/CD pipeline, Bitbucket, Git, Jira. Systems administration experience, including Windows, Linux, and VM environments. Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 – $163,200.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 – $203,600.00. Compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and Long‑Term Incentives for senior positions.
