Assess pets and provide immediate lifesaving care under the direction of the ER doctor as required for critical patients. Provides history, vitals, and concerns to doctors to assist in the timely and appropriate management of emergency patients. Works with technicians and assistants to perform diagnostics, execute a treatment plan and/or hospitalize the patient. Responsibilities: Provide advanced nursing care and monitoring for hospitalized patients, including administering medications, treatments, fluid therapy, and ongoing assessments to ensure optimal patient comfort and recovery. Deliver compassionate client support and communication by providing timely updates, answering questions, and helping pet owners understand their pet’s condition, treatment plan, and prognosis during what can often be a stressful and emotional time. Maintain thorough and accurate medical records, documenting patient observations, treatments, diagnostics, medication administration, and changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and compliance with hospital protocols. Collaborate closely with veterinarians, specialists, and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans, communicate critical changes in patient condition, and provide exceptional, team-oriented care for every patient. Support a high standard of patient care and hospital operations by maintaining treatment areas, preparing and managing medical equipment, and ensuring hospitalized patients receive attentive, compassionate care throughout their stay. Qualifications: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred Experienced Veterinary Technicians/Assistants with a minimum of two years of veterinary experience are encouraged to apply. Emergency or Critical Care experience preferred. Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring. Knowledge of anesthesia monitoring, radiology safety, and fluid therapy. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency environment.
