We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and sales-driven individual to join our team as a Fitness Sales Director. Although this position oversees the personal training department, its primary focus is generating personal training sales, building strong relationships with members, and helping prospective clients commit to reaching their fitness goals.

The ideal candidate is confident, personable, competitive, and comfortable leading conversations that result in sales. This person should be able to connect with members, identify their needs, explain the value of personal training, and confidently guide them toward the service that best fits their goals. This is not a passive management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting new people, following up with leads, overcoming objections, and creating excitement around health and fitness.

In addition to driving sales, the Fitness Sales Director will help ensure that clients receive a high level of service after enrollment. This includes maintaining communication with clients, monitoring their satisfaction, supporting the training team, and helping create an environment where members feel valued and motivated.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fitness consultations, goal assessments, and personal training sales presentations

• Convert new members, leads, and referrals into personal training clients

• Follow up consistently with prospective clients by phone, text, and in person

• Build relationships with members and identify opportunities to provide additional services

• Clearly communicate the value and benefits of personal training

• Overcome sales objections and confidently ask for the sale

• Maintain accurate sales records, follow-up notes, and client information

• Work closely with personal trainers to ensure a smooth transition from the sale into the client experience

• Monitor client satisfaction, retention, and overall fulfillment

• Help motivate and support the personal training team

• Maintain a professional, positive, and high-energy presence throughout the gym

• Meet or exceed individual and departmental sales goals

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, fitness, or a related field is preferred

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Comfortable initiating conversations and asking for the sale

• Highly motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented

• Able to follow a structured sales process while still communicating naturally

• Organized and consistent with lead follow-up

• Passionate about fitness, wellness, and helping others improve their lives

• Positive attitude and the ability to bring energy into the workplace

• Personal training or fitness management experience is beneficial but not required

This position is ideal for someone who wants to combine sales, fitness, leadership, and customer service. The right candidate will not only generate new business but will also play an important role in making sure each client receives the support and experience they were promised.
