About the Position

Job Opportunity – PACU Night Shift RN – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 36 hours per week, night shift; 2:1 patient ratio; 1-2 weekends per 4-week schedule; includes weekend and holiday coverage

Highlights:

• Phase I PACU specializing in diverse surgical procedures including cardiac, neuro, orthopedic, bariatric, vascular, and ENT cases
• Comprehensive patient population working with adults and geriatrics in a 20-bed unit
• 36-hour orientation period to ensure smooth transition and integration
• No call requirements at this time
• Extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and lift teams
• First-time travelers welcome with minimum 2 years of experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Proficiency in charting systems required
• Experience with blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line management, dysrhythmia recognition, IV vasopressors, conscious sedation, PCA pump management, and post-epidural management
• Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol, reversal agents, and RASS assessment
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

• Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing
• Candidates within driving distance of Ohio must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking
• Candidates at extreme distances will receive mailed fingerprinting packets requiring urgent completion
• Unresponsive or uncooperative candidates during credentialing risk assignment push or cancellation
• Former employees eligible after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees at any system location are ineligible for travel assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
