Salary$130000 - $160000LocationGreenwich, CT, USAContractPermanentTypeOffice basedIndustryAccountancy & FinanceContactAdam Ross View email address on click.appcast.io A leading financial services organization is seeking an Investment Accounting Manager to support an approximately $18 billion multi-asset investment portfolio.This is an excellent opportunity for a fund accountant looking to move beyond traditional NAV production and gain exposure to a broader range of investments, including fixed income, public equities, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, derivatives, short positions and arbitrage strategies.The role combines investment accounting with financial analysis, process improvement and technology. Insurance experience is not required, as the team will provide training across statutory accounting and regulatory reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesRecord and reconcile investment transactions and positions between the investment accounting system and general ledgerAnalyze investment activity and explain balance-sheet and income-statement movementsInvestigate discrepancies and determine whether accounting results reflect the underlying economicsPartner with trade-settlement teams to resolve cash, position, interest and settlement breaksSupport accounting and reporting across public and private investmentsPrepare and review investment-related GAAP and statutory reportingAssist with investment schedules, management reports and financial-statement disclosuresReview bank reconciliations and monitor outstanding receivable and payable balancesBuild Excel-based models and prototypes to improve accounting processesWork with external technology vendors to develop and implement automated solutionsLead or participate in process-improvement, automation and control-related projectsPrepare investment-accounting support for external auditorsCandidate ProfileFund accounting, investment accounting, asset management or financial-services audit experienceExperience with NAVs, investment reconciliations, month-end close, general-ledger accounting or financial reportingKnowledge of investment products such as fixed income, equities, partnerships, private funds or derivativesStrong Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, Power Query and data analysisInterest in technology, automation and process improvementStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively with accounting, operations, auditors and technology teamsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related disciplineCandidates from leading fund administrators, investment managers, banks, mutual funds and financial-services audit firms are strongly encouraged to apply.
