Electrical Controls Engineer

Electrical Controls Engineer at ProMach will support our installed base of automated packaging equipment through electrical troubleshooting, controls retrofits and upgrades, field service support, and customer issue resolution. Based on‑site in Deer Park, NY, with regular travel to customer locations. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues on existing packaging equipment. Provide technical support to field service technicians and customer service teams. Design and implement retrofit solutions, including schematic updates and control system upgrades. Travel to customer facilities as needed for installation support, system diagnostics, and retrofit implementation. Assist in documenting changes and creating updated schematics using AutoCAD Electrical. Program and modify PLCs, HMIs, and servo systems to enhance machine functionality. Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to analyze recurring issues and implement long‑term solutions. Up to 15% travel within North America. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 3+ years of experience with electrical controls systems, ideally in the packaging or automation industry. Proficiency in troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems (Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell preferred). Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Electrical and control panel schematics. Willingness to travel domestically for on‑site customer support (approx. 10-15%). Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working directly with customers and field teams. Compensation and Benefits Base Salary Range: $105,000 – $120,000.
