Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant, Operations Accounting, will report directly to the Manager, Operations Accounting in support of internal clients, to assist with gathering operational‑related financial information and reporting operations‑led financial results. This financial accounting position will have the opportunity to directly contribute to the operational aspects of exciting liquefaction facilities. The Senior Accountant will have an opportunity to learn the organization’s liquefaction operations and apply acquired knowledge to cash forecasting and US GAAP financial results. Using this knowledge, the Senior Accountant will record monthly financial accounting transactions and update financial forecasts related to operational activities. Specifically, the Senior Accountant will assist with special recording and reporting requirements not limited to monthly turbine engine maintenance accruals, production‑related accruals, tug operating costs, and other supporting departmental expenses. The position will also lead monthly cash forecasting through cash requests and monthly cash draw documentation utilized by the Treasury department. The Senior Accountant, Operations Accounting position allows an opportunity to join the Operations Accounting team and learn operations and day‑to‑day accounting department practices in a supportive, team environment. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES Calculate and input monthly accrual and correction/adjustment journal entries in Oracle ERP system. Assist with completion of monthly analyses by comparing actual vs. budget/forecasted balances and research accounting transactions to confirm accuracy, validity, and understanding of financial activity. Perform monthly account reconciliations for assigned accounts and ensure proper presentation of account balances. Gather information from other departments to understand non‑recurring financial transactions, as needed. Assist in the forecasting and analysis of project and departmental costs for monthly presentation through the use of Hyperion forecasting systems. Participate in special projects, as needed, to provide information to management and address specific inquiries. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Knowledge: The Senior Accountant, Operations Accounting, will hold an understanding of financial accounting standards and procedures and apply this knowledge to properly record financial transactions. Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office skills Understanding of Oracle v12 ERP system Experience with Hyperion Essbase/SmartView and Hyperion Planning Excellent analytical and deductive reasoning skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Self‑motivated with ability to work independently Ability to multi‑task in a dynamic environment Ability to interact with all levels of management Commitment to customer service Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. Active CPA certification, or current progress toward CPA certification, is highly preferred. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in corporate accounting, operations/project accounting, external auditing, and/or forecasting and budgeting. Pipeline and Oil & Gas accounting experience preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card DIRECT REPORTS None FREEDOM TO ACT Will work alongside other Staff and Senior Accountants and receive direction from the Manager, Operations Accounting.
