Job Overview Position Title: Research Technician 2 Department: Arts & Sciences – Molecular Genetics Administration Location: Riffe Building (0266) Position Type: Term (Fixed Term) – one year with possibility of renewal Scheduled Hours: 40 per week Shift: First Shift Responsibilities Assist in experiments involving yeast genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, and image processing and analysis. Conduct routine lab maintenance, including ordering lab supplies, preparing culture media and plates, and keeping sterilized glassware clean. Requirements High school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience as a research technician (assisting experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related area), or one year of full‑time equivalent research experience in STEM areas during college education. Ability to follow protocols and maintain detailed records. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Benefits and Compensation Pay range: $15.86 to $20.74 per hour, based on internal equity, unit budget, and qualifications. Additional Information Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check, and a drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
