Shift Details

• Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m

Qualifications

• The candidate must:• Hold a current and unrestricted Alaska license as a Physician Assistant under 12 AAC 40.400 • Hold a current unrestricted DEA registration authorizing the prescribing of Schedule II, III, IV, and V controlled substances• Have at least two years of family practice or general practice experience• Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories• Diagnose medical conditions• Order tests and X-rays• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications• Perform minor medical procedures• Consult with and refer patients to specialists when authorized• Complete required documentation in the Department’s electronic health record• Provide after-hours telephone consultation when scheduled• Pass the Department’s background investigation and security clearance• Work onsite at an on-road or off-road Alaska correctional facility• Prior emergency medicine or correctional healthcare experience is preferred.
