Library Associates at PGMCLS

Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is currently accepting applications for Library Associate positions. We are seeking enthusiastic candidates who excel in program planning, reference and reader’s advisory services, and providing exceptional customer service. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish, as well as experience with special collections or archival work, are highly desirable. If you are passionate about the PGCMLS mission and align with our core values, we encourage you to apply!Essential Duties:Provides reference, reader's advisory, and technical assistance to library customers.Instructs customers on the use of library catalogs and databases.Supports library programs, events and circulation desk operations.Assists with collection maintenance.Develops library displays and community notices.Supports the interlibrary loan process as needed.Creates and maintains library customer accounts.Supervises library volunteers as needed.Provides excellent customer service and resolves customer inquiries and concerns.Performs routine data entry and record maintenance.Supports special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.One to three years of library experience (or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities).Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.Experience with special collections or archival materials preferred.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and staff.Ability to learn specialized functions with moderate training.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Additional Information:Interested candidates should apply online at or via the link below.This recruitment is open until filled and may close without prior notice.PGCMLS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid leave, various insurance options, retirement plans, professional development and tuition reimbursement! #J-18808-Ljbffr Prince George
