At GW, we give you access to comprehensive and holistic wellbeing resources so you can thrive during your time here.Reporting to the Director for Health Center Operations and Administration, the Wellbeing Communications and Outreach Graduate Assistant will be responsible for supporting communications and outreach at George Washington University.
Position Specific Summary - Responsibilities include:
- Lead the strategic vision and day-to-day operations of GW's wellbeing Instagram (@wellbeingatGW)
- Manage the full lifecycle of campaigns and content from concept development and design to execution and evaluation. This may include, but is not limited to: brand kit development and refinement, content calendar management, and strategic outreach.
- Pioneer creative health education communications campaigns on important topics like substance use, sexual health, and mental health.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics (e.g., engagement, reach, and impressions) to inform strategy, establish benchmarks, and optimize content.
- Coordinate marketing and outreach for unit events, programming, resources, and services
- Collaborate with other Division for Student Affairs offices to align and co-create student wellbeing-focused social media content.
- Partner with on-campus partners on marketing and communications for unit initiatives and department efforts.
- Maintain and enhance the unit's visual identity and standardized process for content development and communication workflows.
- Assist with unit needs that may be beyond purely marketing, communications, and outreach.
- Attend departmental and division meetings and professional development opportunities, as necessary.
- Will work approximately 15-20 hours per week.
- The position is based at GW's Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC, and will be an in-person role. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
- Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization (i.e. Public Health, Communications, Marketing, Health Promotion), and be enrolled in a graduate program at the George Washington University.
Standard Position Description - The student will manage and/or design marketing and communication strategies and content for departments and/or special events. Tasks may include: Planning, creating, managing and executing marketing plans and campaigns, website resources, digital content and design, and/or managing of social media accounts. While completing work with a high degree of discretion, the student will work within organization marketing standards and guidelines. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications - Previous skills, training, or experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience running/supporting social media accounts, creating campaigns and graphics, and managing multiple projects with cross-functional teams. Prior experience with student-centered populations and marketing initiatives. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Canva, CapCut, Google Suite, and Airtable.
