Medical Office Specialist II (PRN)

Medical Office Specialist Position Purpose: At Mercy Care, we believe in serving with compassion, dignity, and excellence. As a Medical Office Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, playing a vital role in ensuring seamless and welcoming front desk operations. Your attention to detail and customer service will help our patients feel valued and supported. What You Will Do: Greet clients and visitors, answer phones, and direct inquiries. Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and financial information. Verify insurance eligibility and collect payments. Manage appointment scheduling and daily front-desk operations. Enter billing information using the Patient Care Network System. Act as liaison between patients and medical/support staff. Participate in 1-2 weekend health fairs or community events annually. Serve patients across age groups, with a focus on adults and geriatric populations. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of computer literacy, including Word and Excel. 2–3 years of experience in a private physician's office or community health center preferred. Minimum one year of experience with billing for Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, and commercial insurance. Bilingual in English and Spanish required. Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines preferred.
