You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the MATERIAL READINESS CELL (MRC) DIVISION, SUPPLY DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

Help

• You will provide expert technical and administrative supervision.
• You will plan work, set and adjust priorities, evaluate work performance, advise and counsel employees for work and administrative matters, listen and resolve complaints, minor disciplinary measures, and identify developmental and training needs.
• You will serve as primary point of contact for all MRC related functions.
• You will coordinate with MRC leads and mangers across projects to ensure process alignment and peer support.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience managing work schedules, materials, and technical work instructions to accomplish projects.
• Experience recommending changes to senior management on matters related to organization, function, responsibility, and authority on programs, policy information, and long-range planning.
• Experience applying analytical skills to identify specific problems, evaluate lessons learned, and identify new methods of work.
• Experience assessing performance data, forecasting long-range performance issues, devising practical solutions, and continually improving methods.
• Experience communicating appropriately, effectively, persuasively, and diplomatically both orally and in writing to make clear, concise presentations and written reports.
