Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room care. The candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working predominantly night shifts.

Shift Information

• Schedule: 3x12 Hour Shifts (Night)
• Shift Timing: 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekend Coverage: Every Other or Every Third weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a General Emergency Department setting, which includes both adult and pediatric patients.
• Manage a varied caseload that may involve critical situations such as trauma, cardiac emergencies, and pediatrics.
• Perform essential nursing tasks such as IV therapy, blood product administration, and arterial line management.
• Participate in triage and respond to emergencies with rapid and effective care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and social services, to support patient needs.
• Utilize Meditech for charting and documentation of patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• Current certifications are required: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and SANE.
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC, and ENPC.
• Experience with preferred skills such as IV therapy and phlebotomy.

Patient Care

The emergency department handles a daily census of approximately 50 patients. The RN will be responsible for managing patient ratios of 1:4 during day and night shifts.

Special Requirements

• Mandatory floating between two emergency department locations as needed.
• Willingness to work during designated holidays.

Orientation and Training

• Orientation hours: 12
• Coverage for a variety of age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

Interdisciplinary Support

• Support from various teams including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams.

• Work environment includes specialized equipment like Rapid Transfuser and pacing equipment.
