Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care

ARMStaffing is looking for a Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care (Day Shift) in Wichita, Kansas.

Location: Wichita, KS

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift: 5 days a week, 1 PM - 9 PM.

Job Description: The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed and within the scope of their professional license with minimal supervision. You will evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans while effectively communicating with them regarding the purpose and procedures for treatments, tests, and equipment. This role may also require the provision of necessary education upon patient discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments and operate various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using multiple methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
• Monitor oximetry and capnography, and conduct routine evaluations of patients' chest x-rays.
• Execute 12-Lead EKGs and recognize basic arrhythmias.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures, including bronchoscopy, chest tube placements, and perform tracheostomy care.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and documentation, including pre and post-assessment evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency and patient status.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to laboratory testing if applicable.

Required Experience: Experience providing respiratory care in a clinical setting is preferred.

Certifications/Licensure: Current and valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist is required. BLS and ACLS certifications are also needed.
