ADON - Assistant Director of Nursing

Come join us at Carmel Manor!  We are a Faith-Based, Nonprofit, Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Geriatric Care facility sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm for over 70 years.  Our mission is to treat all staff and residents with love and respect.

We are seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Nursing - ADON.  

Assistant Director of Nursing - ADON Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current KY licensure as a Registered Nurse - RN.
• 3 years of Long-Term Care Supervision experience required.
• BLS certification.

Assistant Director of Nursing - ADON Job Summary:

• Assist in Nursing administrative calls by sharing responsibility for backing up on a 24-hour per day, 7 days per week basis.
• Monitor unit activities, communicates policies, evaluates performance and provides feedback. 
• Assist Director of Nursing with managing budget.
• Conducs regular rounds to monitor resident/patient activity and ensure resident/patient quality care.
• Regularly inspect the facility and nursing practices for compliance with federal, state and local standards and regulations.
• Assure proper handling and emergency care of residents/patients, personnel, and visitors.
• Assist as needed in care plan development.
• Attend Leadership meetings and assist in coordinating activities of Nursing Service with other departments of the facility.
• Assist Director of Nursing in the completion of the Incident/Accident and grievance process.
• Assist in determining the staffing needs of the Nursing Service Department to ensure that quality care is maintained.
• Respond to codes and other emergency situations, evaluate and document actions taken.
• May be required to provide direct nursing care to residents/patients.
• Monitor and participate in the MDS process.
