Position: Substitute Van Driver
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
SUMMARY
Drives school van to safely transport students over specified routes according to a time schedule. Ensure the well-being of the students/passengers and other drivers. Complies with all federal, state and local traffic regulations, as well as district policies and procedures to provide a safe positive environment for all students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Drives a school van safely and professionally, including during inclement weather
- Performs and properly completes daily pre-trip and/or post-trip inspections;
- Complies with all traffic regulations and ordinances;
- Complies with District and Transportation Department policies and procedures;
- Participates in District mandated training;
- Communicates in an appropriate fashion with students, parents and staff;
- Prepares reports or memos, as required;
- Assists students on/off the school van, including students with developmental or physical needs;
- Maintains order on the school van;
- Cleans school vehicles vans interior and exterior.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Shows proficiency in handling and maneuvering school van;
- Must have no points on driving record and able to pass physical including drug test and submit to random drug testing.
- Preferred: Experience driving school students
- Must have a valid Pa. Class C Driver's License.
- Must pass U.S.C. District Transportation Tests both written and driving skills.
- Must pass State Skill Test, State Written Test, Department of Transportation physical and Basic Training Program.
- Ability to work in a professional and respectful manner with co-workers, parents and students.
- Ability to read and understand maps.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and policies.01-5
