Must-Have: ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Interpretation of dysrhythmias and IV insulin protocols experience is necessary. Knowledge of feeding tube care and management is essential. Experience in pre/post hemodialysis management is required. Familiarity with accessing ports and blood product administration is needed. Central line care and management experience is required. Phlebotomy and peripheral line care experience is essential. PICC line management skills are necessary. Experience in starting IVs and managing heparin protocols is required. Ability to manage cardiac drips without titration is essential. Familiarity with PCA, thrombolytic agents, and substance withdrawal is necessary. Knowledge of orthopedic trauma and traction care is required. Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen facemasks, and portable oxygen tanks is essential. Proficiency in isolation precautions is required.

Description: This position involves caring for patients who are waiting for admission into an inpatient unit. Care will begin in the Emergency Department until a bed becomes available. The nurse will interpret dysrhythmias and manage IV insulin protocols. Feeding tube care and management will be part of the responsibilities. Pre/post hemodialysis management experience is necessary. The nurse will manage the accessing of ports and administration of blood products. Central line care and management are essential components of this role. Phlebotomy and peripheral line care skills are required. The nurse will perform PICC line management and start IVs as needed. Heparin protocols and management of cardiac drips without titration will be necessary skills. Additional responsibilities include administering PCA, thrombolytic agents, and managing substance withdrawal. Knowledge in orthopedic trauma and traction care will be essential. The position requires familiarity with nasal cannula, oxygen facemasks, and portable oxygen tanks. Isolation precautions will also be relevant in this role. The nurse may float within the service line as needed. Travelers will not be on call. Weekly work schedules will include weekend shifts every other week. This role provides a guaranteed number of hours each week. Candidates will not be accepted from within 75 miles of the facility. This job requires passing a relevant EKG examination. Ensure to screen for any missing required skills before applying.
