Project Accountant

A large-scale energy infrastructure project is seeking a Project Accountant to support the financial management of a major pipeline development initiative. This role will partner closely with project leadership, construction teams, and finance stakeholders to ensure accurate project cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong construction or EPC project experience who enjoys working in a dynamic, project-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain project accounting records and job cost structures Track and reconcile labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and indirect construction costs Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Support month-end close activities and financial reporting Review and process vendor and subcontractor invoices Assist with construction billing, retainage tracking, and revenue recognition Support project budget setup, forecasting, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates Monitor commitments, change orders, and cost variances Support audits, financial controls, and project closeout activities Ensure accurate cost tracking and timely project financial reporting Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field 3+ years of project or construction accounting experience Strong background in job costing, WIP reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Experience working within EPC / construction environments Experience supporting pipeline, heavy civil, or large-scale capital projects is highly preferred Understanding of construction billing, retainage, and revenue recognition Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Location Houston, TX (Downtown or The Woodlands) Travel Approximately 30-40% travel to Anchorage, Alaska #J-18808-Ljbffr
