Hematology/Oncology Physician

Shift: Monday Thursday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (16 shifts per month)
End Date: Ongoing

• Primarily outpatient practice with minimal inpatient responsibilities.

• Well-supported multidisciplinary oncology team with APPs, nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, and ancillary staff.

• Teaching opportunities available in a collaborative practice environment.

Patient Population: Adults (18 years and older)

Setting: Clinic with limited inpatient consultations

Facility Type: Hospital

Facility Setting: Urban

Responsibilities:

• Perform new patient consultations and follow-up visits.

• Oversee administration of antineoplastic therapies.

• Manage hematology and oncology patients in the outpatient clinic.

• Provide occasional inpatient consultations as needed.

• Participate in phone-only call coverage.

• Bone Marrow Biopsies

• Administration/Oversight of Antineoplastic Therapy

• Hematology & Oncology Consultations

• Follow-Up Care

• Phlebotomies

• IV IgG Therapy

• Iron Therapy

EMR System: Epic

Support Staff:

• 2 Advanced Practice Providers

• 2 Nurses per Provider

• Referral Nurses

• Triage Nurses

• Reception Staff

• Laboratory Staff

• Social Worker

• Dietitian

• Referral Coordinators

Days Per Month: 16 shifts per month (Candidates must be available for at least 2 weeks per month).

On-Call/Weekends:

• One week of phone-only call per month.

• One weekend of phone-only call per month.

• Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology (or Board Certified in Oncology with strong Hem/Onc experience).

• Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology.

• Active Iowa Medical License or Active IMLC Letter of Qualification.

• Availability for at least 2 weeks per month (Monday Thursday).

• Clean malpractice and background history.

• NPDB Self-Query Report completed within the last 30 days.

• Experienced physicians preferred; new graduates will also be considered.
