Supervisor, Research Nurse

Christiana Care Health System (ChristianaCare) is a nonprofit teaching health system located in Delaware. This posting is for the Research Nurse Supervisor position focused on supporting clinical and operational research for studies carried out through the Delaware Practice and Community-Based Research Network (PCBRN). Responsibilities Facilitate the integration and execution of research protocols across participating primary care sites throughout the entire study lifecycle, including feasibility assessments, site initiation, ongoing oversight, and study close‑out. Coordinate clinical trial and investigator‑initiated study activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Lead and supervise research personnel, students, volunteers, and ancillary support staff, providing orientation, training, and ongoing education. Develop and implement protocol‑specific deliverables such as educational materials, training tools, REDCap databases, and recruitment materials. Maintain quality improvement processes to promote research excellence, protocol compliance, and operational efficiency. Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), human subject protection, and study‑specific clinical care requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for participating clinical sites, supporting research integration and resolving workflow challenges. Prepare and present research protocols to the CCHS Institutional Review Board (IRB), including initial submissions, amendments, and continuing reviews. Support multi‑site clinical research operations, including coordination of reliance agreements and regulatory requirements for external partner organizations. Monitor study progress, enrollment metrics, protocol compliance, and data quality across participating sites. Participate in protocol and study development activities, identifying clinical care implications during planning and implementation. Facilitate communication among investigators, clinicians, community partners, and participating organizations to support successful study implementation. Support onboarding of new organizations in meeting regulatory requirements, including Federalwide Assurance (FWA), IRB reliance processes, and research readiness activities. Assist the manager with oversight of day‑to‑day research operations, workflow management, and effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of research activities. Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of departmental policies, procedures, and standards of practice. Assist in the development and implementation of new programs, initiatives, and research infrastructure enhancements. Actively participate in the development and implementation of new programs and infrastructure enhancements. Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement processes to promote research excellence, protocol compliance, and operational efficiency. Provide clinical and operational oversight of research activities to ensure participant safety and regulatory compliance. Provide guidance and mentorship to research personnel to support professional development and successful study implementation. Foster interdisciplinary collaboration among clinicians, researchers, operational leaders, and community partners. Under the direction of the manager, facilitate complex collaborative projects and strategic initiatives between PCBRN, Research Institute, and other research departments. Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications BSN required; or commitment to obtaining within three years of hire. Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical research, including investigator‑initiated and industry‑sponsored studies. Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care and/or outpatient settings. Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Delaware. Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Completion of CITI Human Subjects Protection training and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training within two weeks of hire. Research certification required within two years of hire. Travel & Work Conditions This position requires visits to various locations throughout the state of Delaware; a reliable personal vehicle is required. Routine travel to participating sites and overnight travel for investigator meetings and national PBRN conferences may occur. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $38.22 – $61.16.
