If you thrive on discovery, problem-solving, and technical challenges, Redstone Arsenal is where your expertise can shape the future.Essential Job Responsibilities:Conducts research, design, development, and testing of electrical or mechanical hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, mechanical and electrical components.Ensures reliability, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications.May design new or modify existing products.Minimum Qualifications:Position performed on-site at our Redstone Arsenal location.US Citizen Required Top Secret/SCI (eligible) current and active at the time of application.Hardware Engineer II: 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.Hardware Engineer III: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.Hardware Engineer IV: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.Hardware Engineer V: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.Preferred Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.Hands-on experience with hardware analysis and system evaluation (e.g., teardown, diagnostics, performance testing).Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent).Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at the component and system level.Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements (MIL-STD, IEEE, etc.).Nice to Have:Background in FPGA/ASIC design and verification.Familiarity with hardware forensics, teardown, and system diagnostics.Prior work with government contracts or defense industry projects.Physical Requirements:May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.The listed salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities.
