Project Geotechnical Engineer

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time position located in our Boston, MA office.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Split time and responsibilities between field assignments and office assignments. Lead portions of technical project work from project scoping through final deliverables under the direction of senior staff. Apply academic and industry knowledge, as well as learnings from prior work experience, to execute project work. Provide training, guidance, and informal mentoring to junior staff on their projects and within your technical discipline. Under the direction of the senior staff, participate in communications with client, agencies, and internal teams within your discipline. Perform or oversee geotechnical engineering technical evaluations, data summarization, and design. Conduct basic construction observation, including quality control and field testing tasks. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation. Perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols. Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. 4+ years of relevant experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet project requirements. Able to work independently on individual tasks supporting technical work and exhibit the ability to manage tasks and perform work on multiple projects or multiple tasks simultaneously. Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or relevant geotechnical analysis software.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Professional certification or planning to obtain professional certification, as applicable to the discipline. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates. Specialized software applications relevant to geotechnical engineering. Salary for this position in Boston, MA is $80,000 - $93,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
