Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced  Physician for an Occupational Medicine locum tenens opportunity in  Groveport, Ohio , serving the greater Columbus market.

This is an outpatient, weekday opportunity focused on  work-related injury care, occupational medicine, employer services, physical examinations, and limited urgent care . The primary schedule is  Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM , with no nights or weekends currently identified.

The physician will primarily support the Groveport location, with the possibility of occasional coverage at  two other Columbus-area centers based on operational needs. Concentra publicly identifies three centers within its Columbus market, all operating weekday daytime hours, making this a concentrated regional coverage model rather than a broad travel assignment.

Practice Environment

This is a dedicated occupational health environment built around keeping employees healthy, safely returning injured workers to appropriate duty, and supporting employer compliance requirements.

The broader clinical model includes treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses as well as employer services such as physical examinations, return-to-work evaluations, drug and alcohol testing, clinical testing, vaccinations, and preventive care. Concentra also provides consumer urgent care for common minor illnesses and injuries.

Physicians should expect a workflow centered much more heavily on  occupational medicine and workforce health than traditional primary care.

Clinical Scope

Responsibilities may include:

• Evaluate and treat work-related injuries and illnesses
• Perform initial injury assessments and follow-up evaluations
• Determine appropriate treatment plans and work restrictions
• Support return-to-work and modified-duty decisions
• Perform DOT physical examinations
• Conduct pre-employment and post-offer physicals
• Complete fitness-for-duty and return-to-work evaluations
• Evaluate common musculoskeletal injuries
• Treat lacerations, abrasions, sprains, strains, minor fractures, burns, eye complaints, and other appropriate outpatient injuries
• Provide limited urgent care for common acute illnesses and injuries
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing
• Coordinate care with therapy and specialty resources when indicated
• Communicate effectively with employers regarding work status when appropriate
• Complete accurate occupational health documentation

This clinical model include DOT examinations, drug and alcohol screening, audiometry, pulmonary function testing, EKGs, vision testing, X-ray, immunizations, and other workplace-health services.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Primary coverage in Groveport
• Possible float coverage at two additional Columbus-area centers as needed

Any specific float expectations will be coordinated with the provider in advance.

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO
• Appropriate active Ohio medical license
• Appropriate DEA registration as required
• DOT Medical Examiner Certification required before the first shift
• Recent clinical experience appropriate for Occupational Medicine and outpatient injury care
• Comfortable evaluating workplace injuries and determining work status
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within an employer-focused outpatient environment

Physicians with backgrounds in  Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or comparable outpatient acute-care practice may be particularly well aligned with this type of clinical model.
