Advanced Practice Provider

Job TitleAt AFC Urgent Care, our Providers focus on episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. We have a CLIA-waived lab and full scope digital x-rays. Providers meet, assess, and diagnose patients in our clinic and provide them with healthcare services that meet state and national standards for caregiving. The right candidate will enjoy working closely with other healthcare professionals in our organization.Essential FunctionsExamine patients (6 months and older), obtain and document accurate medical history, address patients' concerns, and answer patients' questions.Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified medical conditions.Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication/treatment.Perform any minor procedures necessary for patient management, including but not limited to, suturing, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, etc.Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.Complete patients' charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.QualificationsMaster's Degree from an Accredited UniversityLicensed as Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) OR Physician Assistant (PA)Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner OR Board-Certified Physician's AssistantCurrent Texas State License1+ years' experience in Urgent Care1+ years' experience as Single ProviderBasic Life Support (BLS) or Advance Life Support (ACLS) certified preferred.DOT Certification requiredRequired LicensingTexas State Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) OR Physician Assistant (PA)DOT CertificationAPRN or PAPhysical DemandsRequired for this position include: the ability to speak clearly, hear clearly, close vision, the ability to stand for extended periods, the ability to reach and bend, periodic lifting and moving of items of no more than ten (10) pounds, and walking.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job are working in an indoor healthcare environment, working with a moderate noise level, working with a potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and diseases with a requirement to wear appropriate PPE, (ie. gloves, masks, etc.)Benefits (available for full-time employees ONLY)MedicalDentalVision401(k)Life/AD&DSTDLTDPS: It's All About You!American Family Care has pioneered the concept of convenient, patient-centric healthcare.
