About This Role

Make a difference in the life of an elementary student! We are looking for a caring, dependable Special Needs 1:1 Assistant to provide individualized support to a student in our before- and after-school program at Westwood Elementary School in Fairview, TN.

Schedule: Monday–Friday

6:30–8:30 a.m. and 3:30–6:00 p.m.

Pay: $17.19–$21.69 per hour, plus an additional $2.00 per hour for morning shifts.

You’ll work as a Child Care Assistant providing 1:1 support to a child with special needs in our before- and after-school program. Your role is to provide the additional support they need to participate successfully, build independence, and have a positive experience in a group setting.

When your assigned child is absent, you’ll support the overall child care program and assist with students and activities as needed.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with children, builds positive relationships, and wants to help a child succeed. You should be patient, dependable, encouraging, and comfortable providing individualized support while helping a child participate in a group setting.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Paid or volunteer experience working with children.
• Ability to actively supervise, support, and engage elementary-age students in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working with children with special needs is a plus, but not required.
