Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in the region responsible for providing high-quality patient care within a Med Surg/Pediatrics unit. This role involves managing a diverse patient population with conditions such as CHF, Pneumonia, COPD, Sepsis, and postoperative surgeries, including pediatric patients with RSV. The position requires coordination with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Location: Region-specific healthcare facility.
• Position: Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in the Med Surg/Pediatrics unit.
• Shift Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts beginning at 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; 3 years minimum Med Surg/Pediatrics experience; 1 year minimum traveling nurse experience; active license; willing to submit license to the organization.
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, every third weekend, and holiday coverage as required.
• Additional Responsibilities: Familiarity with managing common diagnoses such as CHF, Pneumonia, COPD, Sepsis, and postoperative care; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with patient ratios up to 1:6.
• Responsibilities include handling titratable drips such as Heparin, participating in quality projects, and adhering to safety and security protocols regarding medication keys.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Orientation: One 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation provided.
• Note: Ability to ensure patient safety and meet the quality initiatives of the unit is essential.
