We are actively recruiting for Boilermakers to support our various project sites across the US. A Welder is responsible for fusing pieces of metal together to join metal parts, fill a hole, or fix seams in metal. Their duties include finding the correct tools to properly ignite the torch and welding machine for the specific type of metal, positioning, lining up, and securing all metal pieces according to design specifications prior to welding, and joining these pieces together. What You'll Do Here Maintains a safe and clean work environment Follows all safety and quality program expectations Loads and unloads equipment and materials Uses hand and power tools and heavy machinery Reads and follows construction field work packages Adheres to all applicable company and client policies and procedures Adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines What You'll Bring To The Team High school diploma or equivalent experience is required Follows written and verbal instructions Works well at heights and in confined spaces Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills Learns quickly and has strong math, problem solving, and critical thinking skills Must be comfortable working in Radiological Work Areas (Nuclear work only) Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting at least 50 pounds Other Qualifications Must be able to hold and maintain a Security Clearance at US Nuclear facility (Nuclear work only) Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening Must be able to pass company or customer required weld test Aecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
