THE ROLE

Our client, an acute care hospital in Rutherfordton, NC 28139, is recruiting an RN Stroke & Chest Pain Quality Coordinator on a full-time, permanent, direct-hire basis. The role leads the facility s stroke and chest pain programmes, with oversight of accreditation and certification requirements, quality metric monitoring, and survey readiness. The position reports to the Director, Quality and Risk Management, and works with physicians, nursing leadership, EMS, and telemedicine partners. This is an on-site position; the successful candidate must report in person to the facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the Stroke and Chest Pain Programme Leader and Coordinator, with oversight of all accreditation and certification requirements Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, EMS, telemedicine partners, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards Lead, chair, and facilitate monthly Stroke and Chest Pain Committee meetings Coordinate stroke and chest pain programme development, staff education, performance improvement initiatives, and implementation of best practices Conduct daily concurrent chart reviews and communicate findings to nursing units and providers to ensure quality measures and core metrics are met Review, analyse, trend, and report performance data monthly, with accurate and timely entry into approved databases and reporting tools Lead preparation for and participation in Joint Commission and State Health Department surveys, including mock surveys, tracer activities, action plans, and ongoing readiness Assist with the development, revision, and implementation of policies, protocols, clinical practice guidelines, and standardised order sets Support nursing documentation standards and quality initiatives within the electronic health record (EHR) Develop and deliver education across staff training, provider meetings, committees, and community outreach Act as the clinical point of contact for telemedicine stroke and chest pain services Liaise with the medical community, EMS, and external partners on programme awareness and best practices Lead and support performance improvement initiatives using PDSA and other quality improvement methodologies Provide patient and family education on stroke and chest pain care Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Must-Have

Associate s degree in nursing (ADN)
Current RN licence to practise in North Carolina NC licensure or multi-state (compact) licence

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

Bachelor s degree in nursing (BSN)
