$16-$18/HR

Job Summary:

The Unit Clerk plays a vital role in the daily operations of our Skilled Nursing Facility by providing administrative support to our interdisciplinary team. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and organized medical records, answering phone calls, and providing excellent customer service to our residents, families, and staff. Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain accuracy of medical records by all disciplines; notify responsible disciplines of discrepancies

• Cull and organize medical records periodically and upon discharge, adhering to established medical record policies and procedures

• Prepare new admission medical records

• Answer phone calls, take messages, and communicate with physicians and staff as needed

• Assist with resident/patient needs, including answering call bells and arranging for assistance

• Monitor and log needed repairs on the unit

• Accompany residents/patients to outside facility appointments

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• 2 years of clerical experience, including appointment setting and transportation coordination

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology

• Excellent communication and phone skills

• Excellent customer relations experience with residents, co-workers, and families

• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and attitude in all situations

• Accuracy, organization, and strong follow-up skills

• Ability to handle confidential information
