Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with neuro, ortho, and robotics experience for a Level 1 trauma operating room position.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital OR unit with 12 surgical suites in a Level 1 trauma center,
• Performs a wide range of case types including general, GYN, GU/cysto, ortho, neuro, plastics, eye, ENT, thoracic, and endoscopy procedures,
• Uses Da Vinci robot x3, Stealth navigation, O-arm, and Holmium lasers,
• Occasional pediatric cases seen in emergency situations,
• EPIC EMR system used,
• Mid-shift schedule Monday through Thursday 1030-2100 plus call, or 8/12-hour shifts from 0630-1500 or 0630-1900,
• Weeknight call of 1-4 hours after a shift weekly,
• Weekend call from Friday evening to Sunday evening approximately every 5 weeks, rotating between two call teams,
• No floating outside of the OR department,
• 13-week assignment at 40 hours per week,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required,
• Neuro and ortho experience required due to high case volume in these specialties,
• Robotics experience required,
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required,
• CST certification preferred but not required,
• Active state or compact license required for the state of submission (license required if applicable),
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration to verify residency distance from facility,

Additional Information

• Support surgical procedures across a broad range of specialties including trauma plastics, ophthalmic, and ENT cases,
• Green scrubs provided by the hospital,
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments,
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility,
• Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year,
• RTO must be submitted upfront and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after submission
