About the Role

The Company is in search of an Associate Vice President of Philanthropy to play a pivotal role in leading the Development department and overseeing its global donor relations work. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating a significant portion of the organization's annual fundraising revenue and will be instrumental in driving a relationship-centered, portfolio-based fundraising strategy. This strategy will focus on major gifts, mid-level growth, planned giving, and long-term donor value. The role involves leading and coaching a team of Philanthropy Officers, as well as serving as a frontline fundraiser, managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, and securing five- to seven-figure gifts. The AVP must have a deep commitment to the mission of the organization, which is dedicated to ending the abuse of animals raised for food, and should be adept at guiding complex donor strategies, advising senior leadership, and strengthening fundraising capabilities across the organization. Candidates for the Associate Vice President of Philanthropy position at the company should have a minimum of 9 years' experience in non-profit fundraising, with at least 3 years in a major gifts program that raises a substantial annual amount. The role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in soliciting and securing large gifts, as well as experience in managing a team and fostering a culture of partnership and support. The ideal candidate will have a high level of financial expertise, be adept at using data to inform donor strategy, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with CRM and project management software is also necessary. The company values inclusivity and is dedicated to building a diverse and supportive organization where all individuals, regardless of their background, are welcome and can thrive.
