The position will recommend or refer retail consumer and business products and services to prospective and existing clients and develop internal partner relationships to maximize relationship expansion. This role achieves sales standards through outbound calling, outside prospecting, and expanding relationships with existing clients in the branch. Client acquisition may require time performing outside business development activities. The Assistant Branch Manager supports branch management by running day-to-day branch operations, sales, coaching, training, and development. In the absence of the Branch Manager, this role will assume Branch Manager responsibilities. Depending on branch needs, this position may spend time handling cash. Role and Responsibilities Customer Experience Provide exceptional service that is consistent with or exceeds bank standards of Six Diamond Experience in customer service. Promote and expand client relationships by identifying needs through client needs assessment tools. Accurately obtain required new account documentation, input data, and prepare necessary client paperwork for sales of products and services. Resolve client issues and handle requests in a timely, professional manner. Relationship Building Explain, promote, and refer Fremont Bank products and services to current and prospective clients. Meet sales and referral objectives and contribute toward branch goals, including referring customers to business partners when applicable. Maintain accurate performance records and pipeline activities; regularly review results with Branch Management. Conduct telemarketing and follow-up duties as assigned; participate in outside business development activities and community networking. Communicate consumer and business deposit and lending products, including merchant payment, payroll, and treasury management services. Recommend and submit small business lending products and applications with supporting documentation for lending relationship expansion. Open new accounts and service existing accounts, including business customers. Operations Follow and explain bank policies and procedures as directed by management. May conduct cash handling and other deposit or payment related transactions. Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations and laws. Perform operational duties with accuracy and proper cash handling; open and close the branch as needed. Assist with daily operational tasks (teller transactions, cash balancing, NSF item review, night deposits, and cash shipments). Participate in branch meetings and training; stay informed of job-related issues, promotions, products, policies, and procedures. Maintain a flexible work schedule, including weekends. Other duties as assigned. Management In the absence of the Branch Manager, perform Branch Manager duties. Work with Branch Manager to develop and implement daily actions to meet sales goals. Lead quick start sales meetings and ongoing sales production meetings; track sales goals for branch personnel. Encourage branch associates to achieve top performance. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 4 years of sales and customer service experience in a customer-facing banking environment with prior new consumer and business account openings. Minimum 2 years of supervisor experience or equivalent preferred. Successfully pass the Regulation CC Exam, Operational Knowledge Exam and obtain Signing Authority. Proven success in building client relationships and achieving banking sales and lending objectives. Knowledge of small business deposit and lending products; proven success in small business lending, prospecting, and cold calling new outside opportunities. Knowledge of bank products and services and proven success of effective sales techniques. Understanding of banking regulatory compliance issues. Excellent listening and presentation skills. Minimum 1 year of cash handling experience recommended. Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. Basic computer literacy (Windows) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong time management and organizational skills. Vision and hearing sufficient for client interaction; verbal communication clearly spoken and understood. Ability to walk and stand for outside business development activities. Willingness to perform telemarketing duties as assigned. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven leadership capabilities; ability to motivate personnel in sales productivity and compliance. Professional appearance required. High school diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
