The Assistant Project Manager supports day-to-day field operations on concrete construction projects. This position helps manage project planning, schedule updates, material coordination, technical reviews, quality control inspections, project documentation, and safety compliance. The role works closely with clients, Superintendents, Project Managers, Operations Manager, and subcontractors to ensure project quality & overall financial success.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Coordination
• Assist with preconstruction planning, estimating support, and project scheduling.
• Maintain and update project schedules based on field conditions and client changes.
• Coordinate ordering & delivery of materials (mix designs, rebar, embeds, formwork, accessories).
• Attend pull planning and key coordination meetings.
• Build positive working relationships with key trades impacting production.
• Technical Support
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals for accuracy.
• Assist with RFIs and ensure project code compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to field teams on placement, curing, and sequencing.
• Quality Control & Assurance
• Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections with required documentation.
• Manage QC checklists for all concrete scopes and verify compliance.
• Oversee testing (slump, air, temperature) and monitor 7/28 day break results.
• Monitor placement, square footage, and aesthetic quality of in-place work.
• Ensure corrective actions and punch list completion.
• Support as-built documentation and coordination with surveyors.
• Documentation & Communication
• Maintain daily reports, pour logs, and productivity tracking.
• Assist with COs, billing, and pay apps.
• Record and track field Favor Logs.
• Liaise with PMs, Supers, clients, and testing agencies.
• Safety
• Support safety initiatives and documentation.
• Participate in site safety meetings and walk-throughs.
• Ensure daily JHA reporting.

Position type, travel, and expected hours of work.

This full-time office position requires travel to local job locations in and around Pflugerville. Typical hours will range from 45-50 per week and are subject to change. This role requires working non-typical days and irregular hours based on construction schedules. Due to the critical nature of the role, accepting phone calls even during non-typical workdays and hours is required.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of concrete construction or related experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of concrete processes, field operations, and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
• Familiar with ACI standards, safety requirements, and best practices.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Frequent walking, standing, and fieldwork on active construction sites.
• Ability to lift materials and equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Tolerance to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license
• Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
• Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving (for any driver)
• Ability to pass drug screening.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
