Position Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Pay: $19–$22/hour, depending on experience
• Location: Managed Healthcare Pharmacy, 750 Willow Creek Circle, Eugene, OR 97402
• Work Setting: 100% on-site
• Pharmacy Technician License: Required
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB): Preferred

When a facility calls our pharmacy, you’re often the first person they talk to. You’re the person who helps answer their questions, gets orders moving, finds the right solution, and makes sure they feel taken care of.

Managed Healthcare Pharmacy is a closed-door long-term care pharmacy serving facility customers, and we’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Phone Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, phone-heavy environment and genuinely enjoys helping people.

If you’re someone who can stay calm when the phones are busy, juggle multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and figure out where a request needs to go—even when the answer isn’t immediately obvious—you may be a great fit for our team.

What You’ll Do

Your day will be a mix of customer service, pharmacy support, problem-solving, and coordination. You’ll:

• Answer calls from our facility customers promptly, professionally, and with a helpful attitude.
• Take refill, new, backup, and other medication orders and route them to the appropriate pharmacy team.
• Triage questions and requests to the right team member or department.
• Refill appropriate orders in the pharmacy system when able.
• Follow up with customers when you’ve promised to call them back—and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
• Answer facility questions or connect customers with the appropriate resource.
• Work with Medical Records to update resident information and process related requests.
• Receive orders and requests from doctors’ offices and route them appropriately.
• Monitor assigned facility faxes and communicate issues to the appropriate team.
• Link delivery sheets and prescription documentation into DocuTrack.
• Scan and link original prescriptions and flag anything that still needs to be addressed.
• Work closely with Order Entry, Medical Records, and other pharmacy team members to keep orders moving.
• Take on other duties and responsibilities as needed to support our customers and team.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable talking with people all day.

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience in a fast-paced, phone-heavy customer service environment .
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with facility staff.
• The ability to multi-task and prioritize while handling multiple calls, requests, and follow-ups.
• Good judgment and the ability to triage requests to the right person or team .
• Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to investigate an issue rather than simply passing it along.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• A strong work ethic and a dependable approach to attendance and responsibilities.
• The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a team.
• Comfort working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.

Experience That’s a Plus

• Medical office receptionist experience is a plus.
• Pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• Long-term care experience is a plus.
• Long-term care pharmacy experience is preferred.
• Experience working in a medical, healthcare, pharmacy, or other high-volume customer service setting is helpful.

Not coming from pharmacy? That’s okay. If you have a strong background in customer service, are comfortable handling a high volume of phone calls, and have the right attitude and ability to learn, we’re willing to train you on our pharmacy-specific processes.

If you’re interested in eventually doing more pharmacy technician work, we’re also willing to provide training and opportunities to grow your pharmacy skills.

This is a 100% on-site position in our closed-door long-term care pharmacy.

Because our pharmacy supports healthcare facilities, reliability matters. Our customers depend on us to be available, responsive, and accurate.

The position is typically scheduled Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM , but there may be times when you’re asked to flex or shift your hours based on business needs.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who understands that this role is about more than answering phones.
