Banquet Cook – JW Marriott Reston Station – Crescent Hotels & Resorts We are seeking an experienced Banquet Cook to prepare high‑quality food for events and guest dining, ensuring consistent standards and timely service. Key Responsibilities Prepare food following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per service checks by servers. Start and prepare food items in advance, avoiding over‑production. Date all food containers and rotate per Crescent standards, keeping perishables at proper temperatures. Check pantry items for shift use, determine necessary preparation and freezer pull, and set up lines accordingly. Return unused food items to designated storage areas after each shift. Assist in resolving food cost issues, control waste and loss. Operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment such as deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat‑top grill. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly. Perform any other duties as assigned related to banquet service. Required Skills and Abilities Strong communication in English and ability to meet appearance standards. Self‑starting personality with a team‑player attitude. Ability to lift up to 30 lb and work in crowded environments. Willingness to assist colleagues and pitch in during busy periods. Performance Standards Maintain professional conduct and courteous interactions with guests and colleagues. Adhere to work‑procedure, dress, grooming, punctuality and attendance standards. Demonstrate adaptability, problem‑solving and continuous improvement. Follow safety and security policies, including key control, lifting, chemical use, and hazard reporting.
