Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Arecibo, PR. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys detailed financial work, reconciliations, compliance, reporting, and cross-functional support in a stable business services environment.

The Accountant will help maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close activities, process accounting transactions, and ensure compliance with internal procedures and Puerto Rico government requirements. 
Key Responsibilities

- Record, analyze, and reconcile cash transactions related to CIT collections and floor plan payments.
- Support month-end closing processes, including accruals, adjustments, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Review and monitor rebates, incentives, warranties, returns, and floor plan schedules for accuracy and compliance.
- Process transactions in the SURI system and ensure timely renewal of business licenses in accordance with government regulations.
- Review and post payroll entries, calculate sales commissions, and support departmental accounting needs.
- Perform additional accounting, reporting, administrative, and internal control duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $30,000 to $40,000 per year.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Arecibo, PR.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience preferred for this level of role.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, reconciliation, and internal auditing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and other standard business applications.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Strong communication, teamwork, assertiveness, organization, and information-management skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to maintain accuracy, meet deadlines, and handle confidential financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Experience with floor plan schedules, rebates, incentives, warranties, returns, and commission calculations.
- Familiarity with Puerto Rico tax, licensing, or SURI-related accounting processes.
