The role involves working with pediatric and adult female patients, including post-partum mothers and post-op cases, within a general med-surg environment. Key Responsibilities of the RN - Pediatrics - Travel

• Obtain and record initial assessment and establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention
• Develop and implement a measurable individualized plan of care for patients
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify the plan of care based on patient outcomes
• Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures
• Utilize effective communication strategies and delegate unit work assignments appropriately
• Utilize the appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues
• Coordinate team assignments and follow up on delegated patient care tasks

Requirements of the RN - Pediatrics - Travel

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
• BLS Certification via AHA required
• ACLS Certification via AHA required
• PALS Certification via AHA required
• NRP certification required
• STABLE certification required
• Peds and Med-Surg experience preferred
