Mental Health Counselor (Therapist)

Kulima Care Family Services is a faith-based, nonprofit agency providing foster care, adoption, mentoring, and counseling. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate therapist to join our team.

Job Summary

The therapist provides individual, family, and group therapy, along with assessments, for foster children and families. Services may be provided in the home, office, or community. Can work remotely and set your own schedule (up to 30 hours per week), but must be available in the LOUISVILLE office every Tuesdays from 11 AM–2 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide therapy and complete assessments and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and meet clinical requirements.
• Communicate with clients, families, and caseworkers.
• Follow all policies, including HIPAA and mandated reporting.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and quality improvement efforts.
• Provide crisis support as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a social work, education and or any behavioral health field (psychology, sociology, etc.).
• (Preferred) Active mental health license.
• If not licensed, active clinical mental health supervision is required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children and families.
• Experience with trauma-informed care preferred.
