Travel RN – Emergency Room (Nights)

Alexandria, LA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Key Responsibilities

Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting
Manage a diverse patient population including strokes, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases
Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources

Required Qualifications

Active RN License in state of employment or valid compact license
BLS certification via AHA required
ACLS certification via AHA required
PALS certification via AHA required
De-Escalation certification required
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience with Epic EMR
Familiarity with high-acuity patient populations including stroke, sepsis, cardiovascular, and behavioral health cases
